Marin Cilic defeated best ranked Frenchman Lucas Pouille in Lille on Sunday, securing Croatia's second-ever Davis Cup title.

Cilic defeated Pouille 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-3 after playing two hours and 19 minutes in front of 25,000 spectators in Pierre Mauroy Stadium.

Earlier, Borna Coric overpowered Jeremy Chardy 6-2, 7-5, 6-4, Marin Cilic beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 7-5, 6-4, while Pierre-Hugues Herbert / Nicolas Mahut defeated Ivan Dodig / Mate Pavic 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (3).
