The European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn paid a short visit to Belgrade on Monday to meet Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, before he leaves to Pristina for talks on Kosovo government's decision last month to increase tariffs on imports from Serbia and Bosnia to 100 percent.
The visit was not publicised locally, and Vucic’s office informed the media only after the meeting was over.

The US, the EU, and Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) member states all slammed the move and called on Pristina to revoke it. However, Kosovo’s government said the hiked up tariffs would remain in place until Belgrade recognised Kosovo’s unilaterally proclaimed independence in 2008.
