Artificial intelligence presents the biggest commercial opportunity for the global economy, as a result of which the global GDP is expected to increase by up to 14 percent by 2030, the WinDays business and technology conference, organised by Microsoft Croatia in the coastal city of Sibenik, was told on Tuesday.

Over the next four days, the 19th edition of the conference is expected to bring together about 2,000 domestic and foreign participants, mostly ICT professionals, as well as other representatives of the private and public sectors.

Over 150 lectures will be held, and the main topics this year are: artificial intelligence and its connection with the fourth industrial revolution, security, the Internet of things, open code solutions, and the use of these technologies in different sectors such as finance, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and public administration.

“Artificial intelligence helps in digital transformation and that is the key to the fourth industrial revolution, to which everyone is welcome. But organisations and business must transform or else they will disappear,” said Tatjana Skoko, managing director of Microsoft Croatia, highlighting the importance of “the democratisation of artificial intelligence.”

Microsoft predicts that the AI technology will contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030. Its survey has found that 90 percent of chief executive officers in the world expect this technology to make the greatest contribution to economic growth and social development in general.
