Kazakhstani consulate opens in Split

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejcinovic-Buric together with Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Croatia Tolezhan Barlybayev on Monday opened a new consular office in Split, the Croatian foreign ministry reported.

That is the third Kazakhstani consulate in Croatia along with the ones in Umag and Dubrovnik and the new consulate in Split will be headed by honorary consul Mateo Tramontana, an experienced businessman in shipbuilding and tourism.

Addressing those attending the opening ceremony, Minister Pejcinovic Buric underscored the very good and friendly relations between Croatia and Kazakhstan and added that the work of the honorary consul is an exceptionally valued and important bridge of cooperation.

It is in the particular interest of both countries to strengthen economic cooperation and this was confirmed with last week’s visit by Minister Pejcinovic Buric to Kazakhstan, the ministry underlined.

The opening a Croatian Embassy in Nur-Sultan and now the consulate in Split, will contribute to stronger cooperation between the two countries and boost the strengthening of tourism cooperation, the ministry said in a press release.
