The government on Thursday proposed amending the Law on Subsidising Housing Loans whereby the subsidies would be extended by a year for each child in the family.
In two years of the law’s application, 5,300 young people were given subsidies and more than 550 children had been born in those families.
Construction Minister Predrag Stromar said today that the government allocated 80 million kuna for the implementation of the Law on Subsidising Housing Loans in 2019.
In 2020, this allocation will increase to HRK 114 million, and in 2021 to HRK 150 million.
The government also sent to parliament the draft amendments of the Socially Subsidised Housing Construction (POS) Law whereby interest rates on public funds are decreased and a 10-year-ban is introduced on the sale of the so-called POS flats.
So far 8,276 POS flats have been built in Croatia with HRK 4 billion invested in them and that the plan is to build one thousand new POS flats by 2020.
