The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) is organising for the first time presentations of Croatia as a tourist destination in Australia, with a presentation and a workshop having already been held for 70 Australian travel agents and seven tour operators in Melbourne.

Another presentation is to be held in Sydney on Thursday.

The Melbourne presentation was organised in cooperation with the Slovenian national tourist organisation under the slogan “Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia”, and it featured 11 Croatian tourism businesses and four Slovenian partners.

HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said Australian travel agents and partners were very much interested in the Croatian tourist market.

In 2018, there were around 243,000 arrivals from Australia and they generated more than 745,000 overnight stays, which are increases of 15% and 12% respectively from 2017, he said.

Australians most often visit Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split, which account for close to 70% of Australian arrivals.
