Outgoing Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said nothing at Wednesday’s interrogation by prosecutors at the Specialist Chambers for war crimes in the Hague, Radio Free Europe reported.

Haradinaj told reporters after coming out of the Specialist Chambers that he was there as a suspect but had been advised not to answer any questions. “I came here as a suspect to meet my legal obligation under a summons from the prosecution. I was advised not to answer any questions. I met my obligation to the court. I have no other obligations,” he said.

He said he had not been informed about the case. “We asked for an explanation but go none. This is about my role in the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) but not anything specific,” Haradinaj said.

Radio Free Europe added that former Kosovo Parliament Speaker and war-time KLA spokesman and general staff member Jakup Krasniqi was at the Specialist Chambers as well on Wednesday.

Kosovo opposition MP Xhelal Svecla is reported to have said that President Hashim Thaci and Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli gave statements to the prosecution earlier. Svecla told Pristina’s KTV that Veseli gave a statement to prosecutors in Frankfurt and that Thaci gave statements about two cases but could not specify where, the FoNet news agency reported.
