Croatia's Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman met on Thursday with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto and they confirmed good neighbourly relations between the two countries and advocated the continuation of EU enlargement to the southeast, the Grlic-Radman's ministry said in a press release.

Grlic-Radman and Szijjarto discussed current bilateral and European issues, with emphasis on Croatia’s chairmanship of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2020.

The two ministers advocate the continuation of EU enlargement toward the southeast which would boost reforms and strengthen security and stability in the immediate neighbourhood, the ministry said.

Earlier in the day Szijjarto, accompanied by Grlic-Radman, decorated members of the Sv. Ivan Zelina fire brigade and the medical team for their courage and professionalism when they rescued a Hungarian family injured in a car accident earlier this month.
