Over 400 hundred young people from Croatia visited the Potocari Memorial Centre outside Srebrenica, eastern Bosnia on Saturday to pay tribute to the victims of the genocide which Bosnian Serb forces had committed against the local Bosniak population in July 1995.

The visit was organised by the Bosniak Minority Council from Zagreb, which launched this initiative 13 years ago. The visitors laid wreaths and flowers at the monument and visited the museum commemorating the worst war atrocity committed on European soil since World War II.

The visitors were welcomed by local Bosniak officials and the Vice-President of Republika Srpska, the Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ramiz Salkic.

In his address, Salkic called on the young people from Croatia to do all in their power so that the Srebrenica massacre would not be forgotten and not allow the denial of war crimes that had been committed in Srebrenica. He also called on them to help Bosnia and Herzegovina with their activities in Croatia in protecting its territorial integrity.
