About 48% of bank clients plan a winter vacation abroad, with 54 percent planning to visit a Christmas market somewhere in Europe, an online survey conducted by the MasterIndex Mastercard company shows.

The survey on bank clients’ habits regarding the use of financial services and their attitude to payment cards, covering 1,000 respondents aged between 18 and 55, was conducted by the Improve agency.

Its results indicate that last year Croatians on average travelled four times for tourism and two to three times for business trips, and that being mostly within Croatia.

About 54 percent of respondents plan to travel to some Christmas market abroad and 23 percent also plan some other winter vacation like New Year’s Eve somewhere in Europe (17 percent), skiing (14 percent) and New Year’s Eve somewhere other than Europe (5 percent).

The survey shows that in the past 12 months, citizens travelled mostly within Croatia and 40 percent did not travel outside the country.
