The Zagreb City Council on Tuesday adopted the 2020 budget with 28 councilors voting for the budget tabled by Mayor Milan Bandic and 15 voting against it.
The HRK 8.547 billion budget was passed during a two-day session at which 13 amendments were also adopted.
Mayor Bandic said that the City of Zagreb was facing yet another challenging year.
Outlays for pre-school institutions are budgeted at over HRK 1 billion, while HRK 180 million is allocated for primary and secondary education. Demographic measures are budgeted at HRK 430 million.
The city’s boroughs can count on HRK 700 million, while HRK 160 million is set aside for the energy renovation of buildings next year.
