Former Croatian National Bank (HNB) governor Zeljko Rohatinski has suddenly died in Zagreb. He was 68.
Rohatinski was a well-respected economist and the longest-serving governor of the Croatian central bank, filling the post from July 2000 until 2012.
The British financial monthly magazine The Banker honoured him with two awards in 2009, as the Best Central Bank Governor of Europe and the Best Central Bank Governor of the World.
