The State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday sentenced Ibro Cufurovic, a former member of Islamic State, to four years' imprisonment for terrorism and joining paramilitary units abroad.

Earlier this month, the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to all charges although previously, during trial, he claimed he did not participate in combat in Syria. After changing his testimony, his wife and two children were deported from Syria to BiH.

Cufurovic was deported from Syria in April 2018. Before the deportation, he was detained in Roj camp after the fall of Islamic State.

According to the indictment, he left BiH for Syria via Turkey in April 2014 and immediately joined paramilitary terror units there.
