The Zagreb-based "Dr Fran Mihaljevic" hospital for infectious diseases on Friday received a donation in the amount of a million kuna from the PBZ bank to procure equipment for the department for of intensive care medicine.
During the ceremony, the department’s head, Marko Kutlesa, said that the money would be used for the procurement of emergency and life-saving equipment, including mechanical ventilation systems, adding that this could be also used in the care for patients who may be diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.
The hospital’s director, Alemka Markotic, underscored that the hospital was prepared to treat patients affected by all types of infectious and contagious diseases, including coronavirus cases, if necessary.
