Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called parliamentary elections for April 26 on Wednesday.

“There will be enough time for everyone to present their programs, I wish everyone success,” Vucic said at a news conference in the Serbian Presidency building.

“There will, of course, be some passion and raised voices, there always have been but the important things is for everything to pass in a democratic atmosphere and in peace,” the president said.

Earlier, Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic called local elections for the same date. Elections for the Vojvodina Provincial Assembly were also called by Speaker Istvan Pastor as were Belgrade municipal elections by City Assembly Speaker Nikola Nikodijevic.
