Prosecutors have charged a man from the southern Bosnian town of Capljina, currently held in custody, for smuggling about 500 kilograms of cannabis, the country's prosecutor office said on Friday.
Vinko Milosevic (60), nicknamed “Bulgarian,” is accused of joining an organised crime group in 2019 which also involved people from Montenegro and Croatia.
The group would allegedly procure, store, and smuggle cannabis and transport it from Montenegro through Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia to western EU countries.
Milosevic is allegedly responsible for storing 500 kilograms of cannabis in the southwestern Bosnian village of Gabela. Bosnian police had seized about 240 kilograms of that stash in a raid there.
Prosecutors also asked for Milosevic’s pre-trial detention to be extended, and the indictment was sent to the state court for approval.
