Croatia reports two new cases of coronavirus infection, 2,224 in total

Over the past 24 hours, two new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Croatia, bringing the total to 2,224, the national civil protection authority said on Saturday.

The two newly infected patients are located in the City of Zagreb and Karlovac County. Up to now, 52,425 persons have been tested for the novel coronavirus, 857 of them within the past 24 hours.

Nine patients are on ventilators, and 137 are hospitalised, five fewer than on Friday.

The authority also noted that 1,913 patients have recovered to date, 44 of them in the past 24 hours. Of the total number of recovered patients, 722 were released from hospitals, and 1,162 recovered at home.

A total of 95 patients infected with the coronavirus have died to date.
