Annika Ben David: Human rights and democracy must be central to Covid response

The Swedish model of tackling the coronavirus pandemic has become a topic of discussion around the world. The Stockholm government did not opt for mass quarantine, and relied instead on what they called democratic trust in their citizens. Meanwhile, Sweden moved to launch a pan-European initiative to preserve human rights and democracy in Europe during and after the pandemic.
