The culture sector in Europe was hit hard by the corona crisis. Theatres, museums, and galleries closed their doors, concerts were cancelled, film production grinded to a halt. Countries across Europe approached the issue of culture differently, and the emergency package for the revival of European economy allocated big funds for culture. The crisis also showed that culture is of fundamental importance.
