Josep Borrell, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Miroslav Lajčák, the European Union' Special Envoy for the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on the normalisation of relations will host the forthcoming meeting of the two sides scheduled for next Tuesday in Brussels, a statement by the European Foreign Affairs office said.
The talks will follow the meeting between Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo’s Prime Minister Avdulah Hoti at the White House this Thursday.
The meeting hosted by Richard Grenell, President Donald Trump’s special envoy for the dialogue, is said to focus on the economic topics. There are speculations that Trump may also meet Vucic and Hoti, but the White House has neither confirmed nor denied it.
“As part of a comprehensive agreement on the normalisation of Kosovo-Serbia relations, the meeting will discuss non-majority community arrangements and resolving mutual financial claims and assets. This weekend, ahead of the high-level meeting, Lajčák will host fourth expert-level talks on previously discussed topics, such as missing persons and economic cooperation,” the European Foreign Affairs office statement said.
It added that Borrell and Lajčák would speak before and after the meeting, respectively.
