In the past 24 hours, 1,793 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Slovenia and 99 have turned out positive, the Slovenian government reported on Sunday.

The total number of active cases stands at 837.

Since the onset of the epidemic in Slovenia, 3,702 people have contracted COVID-19 and there have been 135 deaths, according to the data provided by the health ministry.

As of Sunday, the Slovenian government has shortened the duration of mandatory quarantine from 14 to ten days, and this measure applies to those returning from epidemiologically unsafe countries and for those who have been told to self-isolate due to contact with an infected person.

Slovenia’s 14-day incidence rate of COVID-19 is getting close to 40 per 100,000 inhabitants, which is the Slovenian government’s criterion for putting countries on the red list of epidemiologically unsafe countries.
