The 19th Pride parade, bringing together several hundred participants, started on Saturday in Zagreb's St. Mark's Square, where the government, parliament and Constitutional Court offices are located.
Epidemiological measures, introduced to curb the spread of the coronavirus earlier this year, forced participants in one of the longest-lived protests to hold a Pride ride instead of a parade in May this year.
The protesters, who rallied for today’s parade, carried banners seeking the constitutionally guaranteed equality of all families.
The motto of this year’s Pride march is “Freedom within and beyond one’s own four walls”, and it calls for launching a procedure to amend the Constitution in order to make all families equal in their rights and obligations.
The event’s organisers kept warning the marchers to comply with physical distancing rules.
