Members of Parliament, Dalija Oreskovic of the SSIP party and Marijana Puljak of the Pametno party, on Tuesday "unveiled" a plaque with the title "Office of the Croatian President" on the wall of the building housing the "club" of ex-JANAF CEO Dragan Kovacevic, suspected of white-collar crime.

The two opposition MPs staged the performance after President Zoran Milanovic admitted visiting the informal club on two occasions.

They said that they had made the performance to warn that “two Croatias exist.”

In one of them, “citizens are supposed to comply with the laws and rules or they are punished,” whereas the other Croatia is for those who “ignore the laws and rules.”

Milanovic and some other politicians seem to have visited the club during the lockdown, which prompted Oreskovic to say that during that time ordinary citizens could not have imagined that the country’s “leadership is holding meetings in some illegal cellars, where the legislative, executive and judicial branches of power are making deals on plunders,” referring to media reports that Kovacevic had received bribes from businessman Kreso Petek, also implicated in the latest scandal, while partying in the club.
