In Croatia, 5,521 buildings were finished in 2019, which is an increase of 11.9% on 2018, while the number of apartments finished last year was 11,726, or 15.6% more than in the previous year, according to data form the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Of the total number of buildings finished last year, 4,316 or 78.2% were residential and 1,205 or 21.8 were non-residential. Of the non-residential buildings, 232 were industrial buildings and warehouses, 127 were buildings for transport and communications, and 110 were hotels and similar buildings.
The largest number of buildings was finished in Zadar County (763), ahead of Istria County (668), Split-Dalmatia County (478) and the City of Zagreb (325).
