An Osijek County Court judge on Thursday set one month's detention for two men arrested for war crimes committed against Croatian prisoners at Ovcara on 20 November 1991.
Deciding on a motion by the county prosecutor’s office, the judge concluded the two men were a flight risk and that they could tamper with witnesses, the court said in a press release, adding that the decision could be appealed within three days.
After the two men, aged 72 and 57, were questioned, the county prosecutor’s office launched an investigation and requested that they be remanded, citing they were a flight risk and that they could obstruct the investigation.
