Zagreb Holding said on Tuesday that its Cistoca waste management company had not stopped transporting biowaste separated by citizens at their homes.

The company thus refuted the recent statement by city councillor Renato Petek that biowaste was no longer being transported to the municipal biowaste composting plant.

However, the company urged residents to separate waste properly, explaining that when biowaste is mixed with other types of waste, it is being treated as mixed municipal waste which cannot be transported to composting sites but to landfills.
