The government on Wednesday positively assessed a report on the work of state news agency Hina's Steering Council for 2019, with Culture and Media Minister Nina Obuljen Korzinek underlining that the results presented in the report indicate the continuation of stable and positive business operations.
“The results presented indicate the continuation of stable and positive business operations, which is evident in the current liquidity ratio and the debt-service ratio as well as the settlement of all obligations within the set deadlines,” the minister said, recommending that the government positively assesses the report which the Hina Steering Council will present in parliament.
The government also positively assessed the business of the state broadcaster Hrvatska Radiotelevizija (HRT) for 2019 and the minister said that this report showed positive steps in HRT’s business compared to the year before, which is primarily visible in the reduced debt towards banks and decreased cost of financing.
“We consider that it’s necessary to continue to put emphasis on reduced labour costs in the overall cost structure so that more funds can be earmarked towards production and programmes, which is particularly important in these circumstances when HRT is the main generator of production and distribution of Croatian audiovisual and audio content,” said Minister Obuljen Korzinek.
