Montenegrin Parliament Speaker Aleksa Becic and Croatian Ambassador to Podgorica, Veselko Grubisic, on Thursday held talks on bilateral relations and Montenegro's aspirations to join the European Union.

According to a press release issued by the parliament, Becic said that Montenegro’s journey to the European Union had no alternative, and added that his country would cooperate with other countries that could help it on this journey.

The ambassador was quoted as saying that Croatia would continue providing support to Montenegro in the further process of its European integrations.

Croatia finds it important for Montenegro, as a reliable NATO member, to continue striding towards the European Union, Grubisic said, according to the press release.

Becic thanked Croatia for the assistance it provided to this neighbour during the epidemic of coronavirus.
