The Workers' Front (RF) stated on Friday that increasing the minimum monthly wage to HRK 3,400, that is to HRK 4,250 as the gross amount in 2021, was not sufficient.
“The minimum wage is supposed to be the guarantee that not any worker could be paid below the amount necessary for a decent life,” this opposition parliamentary party said in a press release the day after the government decided to raise the minimum net wage for 2021 by 150 kuna or 4.61% to HRK 3,400.
In Croatia, the minimum wage does not meet its social role, since workers receiving the minimum wage live in relative poverty, reads the RF press release.
