The national development strategy until 2030 is a key document for the development of society and the economy and that is why it is of vital importance that it should not remain just a wish list, as has sometimes been the case in the past, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) said on Friday.
The government on Thursday unveiled a draft national development strategy until 2030 and put it to public consultation over the next month. A number of institutions and individuals were involved in its drafting, including the HGK.
After the public consultation, the strategy will become a platform for the implementation of economic policy aimed at boosting growth and development, and the final result will reflect the potential for its implementation, HGK president Luka Burilovic said.
Among the 13 strategic goals listed in the document is reaching 75% of the EU development average by 2030. Given that this would be an improvement of 10 percentage points on the present situation, these are clearly ambitious, yet attainable goals, the HGK said.
The HGK said it was important that the strategy provided for monitoring the implementation and fulfilment of indicators by the steering committee which will be in a position to amend sections of the strategy as necessary.
