Health Ministry State Secretary Tomislav Dulibic informed the government on Thursday that currently there were 2,171 COVID patients in hospitals, of whom 252 were on ventilators.
In the last seven days, 1,915 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 have been admitted to hospitals, and 1,359 have been discharged.
Currently, 1,466 healthcare professionals are infected with coronavirus, and an additional 1,135 are self-isolating.
“The Health Ministry promptly responds to requests made by hospitals and takes care about the sufficiency of hospital capacity, equipment and healthcare professionals. Concerning the capacity, the situation is stable. The challenges are the greatest in the north of the country, and we have been successful in seeking solutions for those challenges,” Dulibic said.
The ministry has asked the Croatian Health Insurance Agency (HZZO) to put oxygen concentrators at hospitals’ disposal.
According to Dulibic, in Medjimurje County, the Hotel Park has been repurposed to accommodate COVID-19 patients and staff will soon be sent there.
