Coronavirus: Bosnia reports 1,179 new cases, 62 deaths

Bosnian health officials reported 1,179 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, along with 62 virus-related fatalities.

The country’s Federation (FBiH) entity reported 738 new cases after testing 2,145 samples for the new coronavirus. The entity’s Public Health Institute said they recorded 36 deaths caused by the virus.

The Republika Srpska (RS) region said they registered 388 new cases of the disease after testing 938 suspected samples. This entity also reported having 25 fatalities over the last 24 hours.

Brcko District health officials said they recorded 53 new coronavirus case along with one fatality.

According to the state Civil Affairs Ministry, the country reported 85,431 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 50,001 recovered and 2,542 had died from the disease.

The Ministry added that there are currently 32,888 active cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
