The MSC Genoa docked in the Rijeka Port on Thursday carrying additional protective equipment and tests for coronavirus procured by the Croatian government from the MEHECO company via the State Reserves Directorate and in cooperation with the Croatian Embassy in Beijing.
The 13-tonne shipment consists of 910,000 surgical caps, 6,000 thermometers, 248,800 nasopharyngeal swab collection kits and 150,000 swab sticks worth USD 532,540, the government's public relations office said in a press release.
The equipment will be taken over by the State Reserves Directorate and transported to the Jastrebarsko base from where it will be distributed to medical institutions to enhance their efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19.
