In November 2021, 204,000 passengers passed through Croatian airports, which is 270.6 pct up from November 2020, and the number of aircraft movements increased by 55 pct to 4,354, state agency Hina said on Thursday, citing data released by the state statistics bureau.
However, this is still 42 pct down from November 2019, when 351,000 passengers transited through Croatian airports.
In terms of individual airports, Zagreb Airport ranked first, with 162,000 passengers in November, or 287 pct up year-on-year. It was followed by Split Airport with 26,000 passengers (up by 226 pct) and Dubrovnik Airport with 13,000 passengers (up by 206 pct). By destination country, the largest single portion of passenger volume was on routes to Germany, which accounted for 51,000 passengers, or 304 pct up from November 2020, when 13,000 passengers were recorded.
Over the first eleven months of 2021, a total of 4.5 million passengers transited through all Croatian airports, an increase of 117 pct from the first eleven months of 2020. The number of aircraft movements in that period increased by 56 percent, to 80,894. Volume of cargo which transited through Croatian airports increased by 13.7 percent to 7,959 tons. Compared to November 2020, cargo transport increased by 28 šercent to 829 tonnes.
