Slovenia on Friday reported 1,737 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours as the country continued to see signs of improvement in the epidemiological situation. Pročitaj više

By comparison, a month ago, on 3 November, Slovenia recorded 4,518 new cases, their highest number in a single day during the fourth wave of the epidemic.

The number of active cases has declined to 31,796. The 14-day incidence has fallen by 84 cases since Thursday to 1,508 per 100,000 population, while the seven-day average of daily new cases has dropped by 88 to 1,906, falling for the first time below 2,000.

The number of hospitalizations is stagnating. A total of 1,059 people were being treated for Covid-19 in hospitals on Friday, including 270 placed in intensive care.

Seventeen Covid patients have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s Covid-related death toll to 5,272.

The favorable epidemiological situation is expected to improve tourism results during the skiing season, which formally started on Friday.
