COVID cases hit record high of 7,094 in Croatia, 50 deaths

As many as 50 COVID patients have died in the last 24 hours in Croatia, which is a new daily fatality record since the start of the pandemic, and also the new daily cases hit a record high of 7,094, the country's COVID-19 crisis management team reported on Saturday.

There are now 31,689 active cases, including 1,786 hospitalised patients, and of them 234 are placed on ventilators.

The death toll has risen to 9,450.

Since the first registered case of the infection with the novel virus on 25 February 2020, as many as 497,168 tests, out of 3.17 million ones, have returned positive. To date, 456,029 infected persons have recovered so far, including 3,896 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, as many as 15,498 tests have been performed, and the positivity rate has been 45.8%.

In Croatia, 53.71% of the adult population have fully been vaccinated.
