Representatives of Osijek Airport and Croatia Airlines signed an agreement on Thursday to launch a passenger flight service between Osijek and Munich, which will be the national flag carrier's first international route from Osijek Airport.
Flights have for now been scheduled for the period from 15 November 2021 to 14 January 2022, and this route will be operated by a Dash 8-Q400 aircraft with a capacity of 76 seats.
Flights will run on Mondays and Fridays, and tickets went on sale as of today, starting from €129.
“I believe that this beginning of our cooperation with Croatia Airlines is just the first step in a series of other flights because they are intensively considering other destinations too,” Osijek airport director Ivan Kos said.
President of Croatia Airlines’ management board Jasmin Bajic said that this is CA’s first international route from Osijek Airport.
Osijek-Baranja County prefect Ivan Anusic said that the route to Munich is a trial route that will be operated for two months, but added that the county wants to keep it throughout the year and to open other routes as well.
He announced that reconstruction of the passenger terminal building would start soon, and that the project, valued at HRK 50 million, would improve the operation of the airport.
