Croatia moves in IMD World Talent Ranking 2021 to rank 49th out of 64 countries

The IMD 2021 World Talent Ranking 2021, published by the Lausanne Institute for Management Development, shows that Croatia has moved upward by four places in the ranking since the previous list, the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) said on Thursday.
The latest ranking covers 64 countries, and Croatia ranks 49th.
The IMD World Talent Ranking (WTR) assesses the ability of a country to develop, attract and retain talented people so as to create a pool of talented persons necessary for enterprises to create new value and thus boost the country's competitiveness.
It does so by using a set of indicators which measure the development, retention and attraction of a domestic and international highly-skilled workforce.
The survey is based on three factors that comprise 31 criteria.
Croatia fares best in the Investment and Development factor where it ranks 34th. One of Croatia's advantages is the teacher-student ratio in primary and secondary schools, while one of its shortcomings is insufficient investments by companies in the training of their employees.
In terms of overall positioning, Switzerland tops the ranking, for the fifth year in a row, Sweden comes as second, while Luxembourg ranks 3rd. They are followed by Norway, Denmark and Austria.
Venezuela is at the bottom.
