Consumer prices in October increased 3.8% year on year in Croatia, hitting a record high since February 2013, the state statistics bureau (DZS) reported on Tuesday.

Compared to September, consumer prices on average increased by one percent.

The greatest contribution to the increased consumer price index in October compared to September was the increase in the price of clothing and footwear (+0.59%) while the price of recreation and culture decreased by 0.02%.

The first significant increase in the inflation rate was registered in April this year, by 2.1%, which was the highest inflation rate since August 2018.

Inflation remained at the same level in May whereas in June it slowed down to 2% and increased again to 2.8% in July. In August the inflation rate was 3.1% and in September it was 3.3%.
