The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Friday approved the use of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine against COVID-19 in the European Union for people older than 18, confirming that the vaccine is appropriate for elderly people too.
"EMA has recommended granting a conditional marketing authorisation for COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in people from 18 years of age," the European regulator said in a press release.
