The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Thursday gave a conditional approval for the Johnson&Johnson vaccine against COVID-19.
"EMA has recommended granting a conditional marketing authorisation for COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen to prevent COVID-19 in people from 18 years of age," the agency said on its website.
The European Commission is supposed to soon give a greenlight for this vaccine developed by the US Johnson&Johnson company.
COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen is the fourth vaccine recommended in the EU for preventing COVID-19.
The European Commission has pre-ordered 200 million doses of this single-dose vaccine.
