Last month the Cres-Losinj archipelago signed an agreement with the Clean Energy for EU Islands Secretariat under which this body of the European Commission will technically support an investment project for the installation of solar panels in car parks.
The northern Adriatic archipelago will receive technical assistance for the INSOLCARPARK project which aims to examine the possibility and economic, environmental and spatial feasibility of investing in solar panels in the largest public car park in Mali Losinj. The project would improve parking services by providing a large number of shaded parking spaces.
The agreement was signed on 22 July by representatives of the Cres-Losinj archipelago with the support of the Islands Movement, a statement said on Monday.
The Clean Energy for EU Islands Secretariat was established by the European Commission in 2018 to provide support to European islands in the preparation of projects.
