Krsko nuclear power plant to resume operation tonight

The Krsko nuclear power plant did not suffer any damage from Tuesday's earthquake and will resume operation at 10pm on on Wednesday, the plant, jointly owned by Slovenia and Croatia, said in a statement on Wednesday.

The plant, located in Slovenia near the border with Croatia, has been thoroughly examined and tested and it has been found that it did not suffer any damage from the earthquake. All systems are functioning properly, the statement said.
Based on the standard procedure in the event of a major natural disaster, the nuclear power plant was shut down after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck central Croatia at 12.19 pm on Tuesday.
