In 2020, Croatian enterprises generated almost HRK 21 billion in consolidated profits and medium-sized and large enterprises accounted for 64% of net profits, according to a Financial Agency analysis.
In 2020, large enterprises netted HRK 7.9 billion in profits (37.7% share), while medium-sized enterprises netted HRK 5.4 billion (25.8% share). Small enterprises generated HRK 7.6 billion in profits (36.3% share) and microenterprises HRK 48.6 million.
Last year 391 large enterprises had 264,619 employees (27.9% of all employees) and generated HRK 312.1 billion in revenues (42% share), HRK 302.5 billion in expenditures (42.2% share), HRK 15.1 billion in profits (32.8% share) and HRK 7.2 billion in losses (28.7% share).
Last year 1,632 medium-sized enterprises (1.2% of all enterprises) had 180,166 employees (19% share) and generated HRK 158 billion in revenues (21.2% share), HRK 151.3 billion in expenditures (21.1% share), HRK 9.4 billion in profits (20.5% share) and HRK 4 billion in losses (16% share).
There were 12,638 small enterprises last year (9.1% share) and they had 244,445 employees (25.8% share), generating HRK 176.4 billion in revenues (23.7% share), HRK 166.9 billion in expenditures (23.3% share), HRK 11.7 billion in profits (25.4% share) and HRK 4.1 billion in losses (16.3% share).
Microenterprises accounted for 89.5% of all 139,009 enterprises. Last year the 124,348 microenterprises had 258,644 employees (27.3% share) and generated HRK 97.4 billion in revenues (13.1% share), HRK 96.2 billion in expenditures (13.4% share) and HRK 9.7 billion in losses (39% share).
Large enterprises paid the biggest average monthly net salary, HRK 7.273, which was 21.8% above the national average. Medium-sized enterprises paid an average monthly net salary of HRK 6,594 (10.4% above), small enterprises paid HRK 5,814 (2.6% below) and microenterprises paid HRK 4,352 (27.1% below).
