The 93-member HGK assembly was choosing between three candidates for the HGK president — Luka Burilovic, Drazen Orescanin and Marin Lovrovic, and 90 members took part in the vote. Burilovic, who was elected HGK president for the third time, said that in his next term he wanted to dedicate himself to the reform of the HGK in order to make it smaller, faster, more efficient and fully digitised to the benefit of the entire economy.

The reelected head thanked members of the assembly for recognizing his program, as well as his past work, and for the third time in a row gave him the the trust to lead the HGK.

He recalled that the draft bill on the HGK had been sent to parliament, and that it envisaged a membership fee waiver for 96% of companies, which is about 40% of the Chamber’s revenue.

That means that we will additional reduce the head count, Burilovic said, adding that he was ready to face all challenges and carry out a complete overhaul of the Chamber.

Luka Burilovic became the president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce on 1 April 2014, and he was reelected president in January 2018.
