Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomasevic said on Monday Nikola Vukovic was sacked as Zagreb Holding's management board chairman and Ante Samodol as a board member because of difficult cooperation with other board members and different concepts of how to run the utility conglomerate.
Upon stepping into office in June, Tomasevic appointed Vukovic and Samodol, without a call for applications, as people of trust, saying they must “urgently bring order to Holding.”
As for their sacking today, he said Holding’s assembly had the right to relieve any management board member of duty at any time.
Tomasevic said he did not think he made a mistake in June by appointing Vukovic and Samodol without a call for applications, because “Holding was in such a state that it needed a change of the whole management board.”
He said the three members appointed after a call for applications remained on the board and that one of them, Ivan Novakovic, was appointed the new chairman.
“Our interest is that Holding has stable operation, that we don’t have conflicts in Holding’s management. That’s our responsibility as the assembly. That’s what we were elected for,” Tomasevic said.
