The Culture and Media Ministry has allocated 4.2 million kuna for 209 museum programmes as part of a call for proposals in the sector of culture in 2021, the ministry said on Monday.
The value of submitted project proposals was 24 million kuna.
In evaluating the submitted proposals, the Croatian Museum Council took into account the new circumstances in which cultural institutions have been operating, caused by the coronavirus pandemic and earthquake damage, focusing on innovative and digitally produced content.
Most of the funding, totalling 1.66 million kuna, was granted for exhibitions. Nine programmes in the field of publishing were granted 170,000 kuna, 17 programmes for the preventive protection of museum material were granted 419,000 kuna, while 23 programmes for the restoration of museum material were granted 419,500 kuna.
