Most in-demand flats 40m2 at average €351 monthly rent

Of the largest cities in Croatia, the average cost of renting an apartment is highest in Zagreb, €10.16 per square metre, and the most in-demand flats are those sized 40 square meters, which cost an average of €351 a month, the latest survey by the Njuskalo online commercial advertising website released on Tuesday indicates.

There are more than 11,770 apartments advertised for renting on Njuskalo, and after Zagreb, the highest average monthly price can be found in Dubrovnik, Split and Rijeka. Rijeka is the only city that did not record a price hike in rent.

Of the total offer on the market, 45% of flats for rent are located in Zagreb, followed by Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (29%), with 67% of those flats being in Rijeka, then Split-Dalmatia County (16%) and 86% of these flats are located in Split.

The biggest offer in rental premises in Zagreb are flats with a size of 60m2 and their average price is about 5.2% higher than it was last year.

In Split too the most sought-after flats are those of about 40m2 and their average price is €369, however, most of these flats are available only outside the summer tourism season.
