"Given that this year we have directed all our funds and attention to the earthquake-struck part of Banija, we are organising the marking of Christ's birth... near the Orthodox Church in Petrinja," the SNV said.

Boris Milosevic, the deputy prime minister from the Independent Democratic Serb Party, told Hina he hoped to attend. The party's MP Milorad Pupovac said he would attend.

The SNV said it had launched a fund-raising campaign to help all the villages near Glina, Petrinja, Kostajnica and Dvor, and thanked everyone who was tirelessly working so that all those affected by the tremor could get help and decent accommodation.
