The new rules, such as the shortened opening hours of hospitality businesses and a temporary ban on gatherings of people from different households, takes effect on Monday.
The COVID certificate is mandatory now for all residents aged 12 and above. Only medical surgical masks and FFP2 masks can be used.
A temporary ban is issued for nightclubs.
Also believers at sites of worship are required to wear masks and keep a distance.
Health Minister Janez Poklukar said after Friday's meeting of the government that he believed that those restrictions could produce fast effects, however, the most efficient measure is getting vaccinated, he underscored.
